ENGINEERING CONSULTANT

S.H. Collins & Co.

2016- 2018

New York, NY

I am proud to say I am a founder of a sole proprietorship performing engineering, drafting and project management consultation services for architectural, structural and mechanical projects in upwards of $16M.  My services delivered include drafting blueprints, supervising construction, field inspection, bidding and estimating, negotiating materials, fabricating parts, administrating manufacturing departments, developing engineering processes, product development, research and testing, maintenance and repair, technical analysis and reporting as well as much more.  As an owner driven to provide the best results I advanced my expertise in the field of business, architecture, project management, mechanical engineering and design.  I quickly acquired a large and loyal clientele from an outstanding reputation to multitask and deliver the highest quality service.

PROJECT MANAGER

Sunnova

2014 - 2016

Houston, TX

Sunnova gave me a great opportunity to sharpen my analytical, process development and project management skills in a construction management role.  The atmoshere of a start up company that grew into the 3rd largest residential solar provider in America allowed me to establish protocol for the installation management team still used today which led me to several promotions during my time with the company. I simultaneously directed more than a dozen contractor companies across the Northeast from New Jersey to Massachusetts overseeing a portfolio of $25M in residential solar projects.  My trending and reporting techniques identified target projects and by implementing solutions shortened average installation duration by 15%.  I also orchestrated installations through each stage of development including contract proposal, system design, permit submittal, installation, change orders, RFI's, final inspection, payment, activation and final completion. I was the eyes and ears for upper management visiting construction sites ensuring contractors were timely and builidng to specifications which ensured our success.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

New York City Transit
2018- Present
New York, NY

Working for New York City Transit gave me valuable experience with capital projects and an inside look at how they function.  I was a Construction Manager overseeing the design and installation of contracts in upwards of $100M in value.  This required expertise in the submittal process utilizing CRM software, developing tracking and reporting procedures and working with both contractors and NYCT stakeholders to keep the design process flowing efficiently.  I was a field Supervisor managing the survey, installation and quality of construction while maintaining safety standards.  I utilized my advanced expertise in Microsoft Office, Adobe and CAD as a writer of official transmittals and legal letters.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

NuWay

2008- 2014

Hartford, CT

At NuWay I collaborated with a talented team  of experienced engineers, tradesmen and directors streamlining production, automating processes, pinpointing inefficiencies, designing solutions, optimizing maintenance schedules and ensuring safety.  This gave me a perfect chance to advance my 2-D and 3-D design and drafting skills  of building blueprints, part details, assemblies, as-builts and project proposals as well as refine my approach to the engineering process.  I headed engineering initiatives composing reports including complex calculations, CAD designs, BIM's, fabrication and analysis of mechanical parts, production lines, HVAC systems and heavy machinery.  One of the main initiatives was revamping the packing division with updated equipment and workflow that increased capability by 20%.
